Samantha and Sammy

I'm over a year into creating my "made by me" wardrobe and there is plenty to document but I figured I'd share where I am right now. And right now I just completed testing for Laele Jeyne's Samantha and Sammy top and dress. I wish I would have captured more and better images but I ended up horribly ill in the midst of testing because such is life.

Here are some highlights of Laela Jeyne's newest pattern-

- It's on sale until Sunday! You can find it here. - It is totally 4 season with options for sleeves, sleeveless, hemlines, and even a cowl - Was created for ladies (Samantha) and girls (Sammy) so you can make coordinating outfit for you and your favorite little girl (niece, daughter, granddaughter, goddaughter, you name it) - The PDF pattern is layered so you can easily print the sizes you need and is helpful if you need to mesh a few sizes - Tapes up easily and lines match up I have a soft spot for a good racer back and and with spring just arriving and dreams of warm weather I went for it. My first round was in a racer back dress only modifications I made were to shorten the length by cutting at the patterns "shorten line" and bringing up the length for my 5'2" frame.

The second round is a racerback top with a built in bra and a hi-low hem line. Yes, you read that correctly BUILT IN BRA! Laela Jayne provides additional pattern piece and instructions to add the built in. I am smaller busted and felt completely comfortable wearing it sans bra especially around the house. But I did make a rather big observation. When making something with a built in bra you need to re-measure your bust. I will need to go down 1 size with the built in bra option. And that's a good reminder to all those who sew or are new to sewing for themselves. Measure, measure, measure and measure with the undergarments you plan to wear or not wear... So if you see looking for a incredibly well drafted pattern that is easy to assemble and has loads of options I highly recommend you check out Samantha and Sammy. Until we sew again, Lizzie

And if you want to check out more Samantha and even Sammy reviews checkout -
