When it comes to sewing for yourself it's definitely measure twice and cut once. And when I'm talking measure I really mean measuring yourself. And I share this because I totally goofed when making the lovely Paradise Island shift dress by Bella Sunshine Design. Which can be found here -
Is the dress wearable and perfectly cute? I'd like to think so. Could the fit be better yes absolutely but we live, we learn and we re-measure. Some highlights of the Island Shift - 7 cup sizes Front and back darts - are these a bit of a pain yea a touch but they provide us with the fantastic fit Neckline detail Invisible zip Fully lined Classic shift fit and look The host of testers went with cotton and they all look fantastic but I can see this dress looking rather amazing in linen (I did a band in the first version sans darts) and silks.
This is truly a dress you can wear casually with simple sandals, or dressed up in a gorgeous silk to a wedding and with a cardigan for a business casual look. And there is even a girls version if you want to match with a special little lady.
